Domain

A domain is your own personal website you can either create to sell or keep and you can buy.  One that we went over in class was GoDaddy.com.  You can even create a website name on blooger and pay $10 to buy it and publish it.  Click here to try GoDaddy.com. 

Google Reader

Google reader allows you to subscribe to websites and follow them and allows you to mark it as read.  The next time you log on you will get the new updates and the ones marked as read will not show up.  A dark blue border means it is read.  Click here to try it.  You can also save it to bookmarking websites and share on websites. 

Bibme

Bibme is a citing website where you can search for books and get citing information.  Citing information would include the title, author, publisher, and the year published.  Click here to find out more.

FriendFeed

FriendFeed is a social bookmarking site where you can upload friends from google, yahoo, hotmail, and facebook.  You can join groups.  Also you can separate your friends to whether they are favorites, professional, or personal.  You can create discussions as well.  Below is a picture of their logo.

iGoogle

Histats

On histats you can create a counter and customize it to look however you want. The counter keeps track of how many or where people in the world visit your blog. On the bottom of my page on the far left side you can see my counter. Here is a picture of my geo-location so I no where in the world people have viewed my blog from.

Blogger Widgets

I added two new widgets.  I added two horse widgets, one of which I imported.  My first widget has pictures of horses and my second has information about horses.  You can import widgets or you could just use blogger widgets.  Whatever you choose to do.

Stats

Stats is a new blogger gadget that can show you how many people have viewed your page and where they are from.  I think that the stats gadget is pretty cool.  I like being able to see how many people have viewed my page and where they are from in the world.

Word Clouds

Word clouds  can be used to see what words are most commonly used in a document or paper.  They can also be used for fun.  They can be used for gifts, assignments, voting, comparing, and posters.  Word clouds are capable of being put into shapes.  You can change the text color, the background color, and the arrangement.  You can put blogs,tags,and important information into word clouds. Meez Room

When you go to Meez you can make a room and chat with friends.  You can make the room public or private.  Any of your friends can enter and can talk with you and they don't even have to be there with you.  You can make up to 3 rooms and you can buy or sell rooms, too.

Delicious is another social bookmarking website where you can tag websites and save them to access them at any computer at anytime.  You can search for related topics or search for new topics.  Delicious has some features where when you go to a website you can save it.  To try delicious click here.

I created this talking message of myself on oddcast.com using a picture of myself then adding text or you can use your on voice. You can upload any photo to use on this website whether its an animal or person and you can make them talk.

Textanim

Textanim makes animated text that you can post anywhere on the internet.  You can create it however you like and use any words you like.  I like this because you can create your own text.

Meez Avatar

On Meez you can create a person and custimize them.  When you create your person you can also play games online.  You can put a background, have them pose, and change their look.  I like meez because their are so many different options and games.  What I don't like is that you have to pay to get certain items.

Voki

You can create an avatar instead of uploading a picture of yourself.  It is also a lot safer to make an avatar instead of uploading a picture so no one can figure out who you are.  We learned that one of the websites you can go to to create an avatar is Voki.com.  In voki we can create an avatar and make it look how you want it to.  You can also make it speak and record your voice to play.

How I Currently Use Social Media

When I'm online I like to check my facebook, yahoo, myspace, myyearbook, and tagged.  I also like to chat with my friends and meet new people.  I just currently found out about picnik.com which I really like.  I like to upload pictures and chat.  My favorite search engine is google.com.  I love the internet and using to help with my life.
